Yau Lok ("we", "us", "our") operates a senior lifestyle residence at 11 Old Peak Road, The Peak, Hong Kong. We take the privacy of our residents, enquirers, and website visitors seriously, and we handle personal data in accordance with the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance (Cap. 486) of Hong Kong ("PDPO").

3. How We Use Your Data

- To arrange and manage residency at Yau Lok

The legal bases for processing are: performance of a contract or pre-contractual arrangement (residency enquiries), our legitimate interests in operating the residence safely and effectively, your consent (marketing communications and analytics cookies), and legal obligation (compliance with PDPO and other applicable regulations).
We do not send marketing communications without your prior consent. You may withdraw consent at any time by contacting us.
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell personal data to third parties. We may share data in limited circumstances:

- With family contacts named by a resident, where the resident has given consent

Enquiry data from website forms is retained for up to 24 months unless a residency is established, in which case it forms part of the residency record. Residency records are retained for seven years after the arrangement ends, in line with standard commercial practice. Analytics data (where consented) is retained for up to 26 months.
6. Data Protection
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against unauthorised access, loss, or disclosure. These include:
- Secure HTTPS connections for all website data transmission
- Access controls limiting who within our team can view personal records
- Regular review of data handling practices
In the event of a data breach affecting your personal data, we will notify you and the Office of the Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data (PCPD) as required under the PDPO.
